The innovations of the Porsche Boxster

“The Boxster has become a classic”

The concept car at the 1993 Detroit Motor Show: Best of Show. For Porsche, this was the starting point for the series development of a two-seater reminiscent of legends such as the 550 Spyder and the 718 RS 60 Spyder racing car. Hans-Jürgen Wöhler and Sebastian Bien examine the evolution in detail – from the safety concept and the folding roof to the monobloc brakes, side airbags, and attractive proportions.

On board: Walter Röhrl and Jörg Bergmeister

“The new car: a giant step forward”

Twenty years ago, Walter Röhrl drove a 911 GT3 around the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring in under eight minutes – a benchmark for the current model of the 911 GT family. Its best lap time: 6:59.927. Cockpit pro Jörg Bergmeister was there. In our tech talk, he talks shop with Walter Röhrl about the track performance of the series sports car as well as its impressive acceleration figures.
